Student learning on phone

TEE Online vs TEE Classic

Compare the two learning formats and choose what works best for you and your group.

Two Paths, One Goal: Growing in Christ

For many years, Theological Education by Extension (TEE) has helped Christians across our Diocese grow deeper in their faith and become stronger leaders in the church.

Today, we offer TEE in two different formats: TEE Classic (using printed books) and TEE Online (using your smartphone).

Important: Both paths lead to the same goal. The heart of the program does not change. The only difference is how you receive the lessons.

TEE Classic: Learning with Books

This is the traditional way of doing TEE that many of you already know and love.

In TEE Classic, you use a printed book. Each week, you read a lesson at home by yourself. You think about the questions and write down your answers.

TEE Classic is a great choice if:

  • You live in an area with no electricity or internet connection
  • You do not own a smartphone
  • You love holding a book and writing notes in the margins
📚

What You Need

  • • The TEE book
  • • A pen and notebook
  • • Ability to read
📱

What You Need

  • • A smartphone
  • • Internet access
  • • TEE app or website

TEE Online: Learning with Your Phone

This is our new, digital way of doing TEE. It uses technology to bring the lessons to you.

In TEE Online, you use a special app or website on your smartphone. Instead of reading long texts, you watch short videos where a teacher explains the lesson. After the video, you answer quiz questions directly on your phone.

TEE Online is a great choice if:

  • You have a smartphone and can access the internet
  • You learn better by watching and listening than by reading
  • You enjoy interactive learning and getting instant feedback

The Most Important Part: The Group Meeting

This is the heart of TEE, and it is the same for both Classic and Online. TEE is not a program you do alone!

👥

Meet Together

Your small group must meet regularly, usually every week or every two weeks.

💬

Discuss and Share

Discuss the questions from the lesson. Share what God has taught you.

🙏

Pray and Encourage

Pray for one another and encourage each other in faith and ministry.
